About Marty

Who is Marty?

There is nothing typical about Marty Curtis and his journey to success. However unusual, it seems that his path has finally brought him to what he has wanted since he was 14 years old: to live on the water and own his own business.

From Pizza Maker, to Top Jr Golfer, to Butter Tart Ambassador, National Best Selling Author and now his new book and creation PenGOLF

After several different careers and many interesting adventures, Marty was the man behind the amazingly successful Marty’s World Famous Café in Muskoka, Ontario. Praised for making the best butter tart in the world, mentioned in the Lonely Planet series of guidebooks, New York Times, London Evening Standard London, UK, and visited by many celebrities, Marty’s World Famous Café was certainly a landmark.

Marty seems to have followed his heart throughout his life. He has gone from pizza maker at Baffo’s Pizzeria and Restaurant at the age of 14, and discovering his passion for golf.  He was the Humberview Highschool (Bolton) Golf Captain and Champion, as well as the Qualifying winner of the Ontario Junior Championship.  He worked in every job available in the Golf industry, from Back Shop Manager I (The Pulpit Club - Caledon) to Mower Operator and Course Maintenance at the Caledon Golf and Country Club and The Brampton Golf Course.

He moved to travel around the world, working with his grandfather and uncle with orthopedic footwear and finally starting a little ice cream shop in Muskoka that quickly turned into the wildly successful café. Marty has always done what he finds fulfilling and rewarding.
